Yes indeed. Appears to be a Series II 1968+ car, as I think I see a sidemarker.

Im so happy. Thats the first one ive ever seen in person then. I was just doubting it because why is there an E-Type in one of my local little podunk towns ?

Series 2
(69-71) Jaguar
E-Type OTS (open two-
seater)
but that one is either 69 or 70. 4.2l XK straight 6,
twin 1.75"
Zenith
-
Stromberg
carbs,
with a four speed manual
It’s finished in Primrose yellow and an unfortunate third brake light.

As well as the lower tail lights. S3 had lower lights too, but the trunk floor was lowered a bit to meet up with them so they didn’t look like they were tacked on.

I hope you were suitably impressed, it is just that much more fun to see a car like this out in the wild than it is to see it at a show. #carsshoulddothingsbesidesgoingtoshows

Looks like the 3.8 liter six from the shape of the bonnet.

That third brake light isn’t required if it’s an antique car, is it? Or does that vary by state?

Not a Series 1 though, I think the rear lights are above the bumper, so this car probably has the less sexy front end.

Oh god, I doubt it. It was mandated in 87, and some people added them themselves, but I don’t think it was ever a requirement to retrofit older cars. Especially cars that were already 17 years old.
It’s also Ohio. I don’t think they even care if the first and second brake light work.

What if it was on its way to a show?
